I'm thinking of buying the Esslinger oyster link removal tool to remove a permanent link for my Rolex 114270. There are two things that I'm still not sure and hoping someone who has used the tool can help:
I have successfully removed a fixed link from the 6 side of my GMT and my 14060. Rolex Service Centre did my other Sub free of charge when I bought it, they obviously have the tools. I have a small machine shop at home and made up a very simple jig to grip each side of the link and pull it apart. I will try to remove a link from 6 o’clock and see how that works. At the same time, logically, removing link from 12 o’clock side may be more appropriate for this specific bracelet, i.e. with glide lock mechanism, and glide lock extension is on 12 o’clock side.
